The sixth series of banknotes were launched in Year 1986. The design was similar to fifth series. The series number was changed from horizontal to vertical form (see
above). And the design at the left was changed -there is no more diamonds design at the left of the notes. All the notes was signed by the new Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato' Jaffar Hussein.
