Supernatural Animals in Hong Kong Standard Chartered Banknotes Year 2003
Standard Chartered Bank issued its last set of Banknotes in Year 2003. This set of banknotes was designed by a famous world-renowned designer Henry Steiner. His concept was to use supernatural animals from Chinese mythology as the theme, symbolizing the distinct energy and culture that makes Hong Kong one of Asia’s most dynamic and vivacious cities.
In an intimate marriage of design and security, Steiner has created a groundbreaking new see-through feature for Standard Chartered. In the upper right-hand corner of each note is a see-through globe inspired by one of each of the five traditional elements; metal, wood, water, fire and earth. Not only are these see-through features beautifully designed, but they also provide an immediate and highly visual means of verifying the note’s authenticity.
