Jason Islands Banknotes 1979
In March 1970, Jason Islands part of the Falkland Islands were bought by Len Hill. Around 1979 Len once issued banknotes in name of 'Jason Islands' to funds for conservation. The notes have validity to 31 Dec 1979 and by "Len Hill - Administrator".

There were five denominations - 50 pence (green), 1 pound (purple), 5 pounds (red), 10 pounds (blue), and 20 pounds (brown). They have images of different types of penguins.

It was said that Len paid £10,000 to buy Jason Islands, an this included sheep that had been stocked by the previous owner. After some negotiation, he bought the islands for £5,500 without the sheep.
